As I sit here with my 5 week old daughter on my chest, I realize how late I am in updating this!!
Here's the scoop... and please excuse typos as I type with one hand. This is my newest mommy skill that I have developed and am continually working to perfect.
So, on Jan. 17, Adam and I had a particularly taxing day. We cleaned, went for a walk and then I went shopping with my mama. As we were shopping, I had to interrupt my mom to tell her we HAD to leave because my water had just broke. After a slight freak out, we headed home and called Adam to warn him.
After a nice shower and some dinner, my mom, Adam, and I made it to the hospital at around 7 Tuesday night. I felt pretty good and spent a few hours walking around and visiting.
Things moved pretty slow at times and at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon, it was finally time to push. And at 2:20 Miss Molly Kay Hoff was born! She was 7 lb. 1 oz. and 19.5 in. long and I am proud to say I accomplished my goal of doing the whole thing drug-free. Molly was so lively and alert when she was born. She was ready to greet the world!
We all went home on Thursday and have been enjoying every second since. She is so precious! She is a great eater and sleeper. We have to set an alarm at night so she doesn't sleep through meals!
She is a little over 5 weeks old now. Her newest milestone is smiling. We have only seen it a few times and have yet to catch it with the camera. Adam tried to catch it on video, but instead she just stared and then spit up (one of her specialties). Hopefully, we will get it soon!
One more thing - Molly was baptized last weekend. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception afterwards was great. Molly showed her personality by spitting up right before Father Joshy did the blessing of her mouth. She's good at being gross lately.
And Molly's new BFF, Levi, was born 12 days later! It will be so much fun watching them grow up together.
